A journey of seven weeks to Mount Sinai …

Leviticus 23:15–16 “15 And you shall count from the day after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering, seven Sabbaths; [seven full weeks] shall they be. 16 Count fifty days to the day after the seventh Sabbath; then you shall present a cereal offering of new grain to the Lord.”

As soon as you are exposed to the Hebrew Roots teaching, you get confronted with a few basic concepts, namely:

• The need to love God with all your heart.
• The need to love your neighbour with real acts of compassion.
• The understanding that God’s Calendar is different to the one we use on a daily basis.
• The Commandment by God to come into alignment with His Times by “keeping” the Feasts.

Recently, I spent some time considering the fact that God would not only focus on “highlights” of Feasts, but would have an equally important experience for His Children during the times in between.

It is the “in between” time that this study will focus on … the seven weeks leading up to Mount Sinai, the Feast of Shavuot. This journey in the physical was called the “counting of the Omer”.
